NASRI REVEALS INTER MILAN INTEREST
Recently retired French player Samir Nasri has disclosed that Roberto Mancini tried to sign him when he was the Inter Milan manager. Samir Nasri said he was previously an Inter Milan target in a chat with French broadcaster Canal Plus and that present Italy senior national team manager Mancini tried to sign him from Premier League side Manchester City while he was in charge of the first team at Inter Milan.

Mancini was the Manchester City manager in between his two spells as the Nerazzuri manager. He was the man responsible for the first Premier League title at Manchester City. The title almost slipped away from him at the end of the 2011/12 season until Argentine striker Sergio Aguero intervened.
Manchester City needed to beat relegation-threatened Queens Park Rangers (QPR) at home on the final day of the season to win their first Premier League title only for them to trail 2-1 to the West London team with a few minutes left on the clock. Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko scored the equaliser for City before Aguero hit the back of the net with the winning goal with virtually the last kick of the game. The Aguero strike gave City a 3-2 win over QPR and their first Premier League title ahead of Manchester United who were already celebrating a title win before the goal from Aguero took it away from them. On their part, QPR stayed in the Premier League despite the loss with other results going in their favour.
Samir Nasri was part of the Manchester City team that won the Premier League title under the guidance of Mancini. According to him, the Italian manager is a big fan and he tried to sign him when he was at Italian giants Inter Milan and Zenit Saint Petersburg of the Russian Premier League.
