Former Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri believes that his former club is too obsessed with winning beautifully and feels that is the main reasons that they have not won any silverware for the last seven seasons.

Nasri felt frustrated at the lack of silverware at the Emirates Stadium and that was one of the major reasons he forced a move to the cash rich Manchester City last summer.

He also believes that the players Arsenal bought after being hammered 8-2 by Manchester United at Old Trafford in August are also not to the standard of Arsenal, the likes of Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, Robert Pires and Patrick Vieira – who were part of The Invincibles squad that went an entire Premier league season unbeaten.

Samir Nasri has now warmed to winning ugly at the Etihad Stadium under Roberto Mancini and believes that they have a far better chance of winning any silverware by winning ugly that they have by playing the Arsenal Way. However, Nasri also believes that his former manager Arsene Wenger will lead The Gunners to glory in the near future and they just need a few finished players to lead the extremely talented bunch of players at the club right now.

Although he is still not a regular in The Citizens lineup, having to fight hard for a place with James Milner, Nasri has no regrets about leaving The Gunners and he still believes that he has a far better chance of winning here than at the Emirates Stadium, at least for the next two or three years.

Having cruised through the first knockout stages of the UEFA Europa League, hammering FC Porto 6-1 in aggregate, Samir Nasri is convinced that City can do a League and European double and write their name in the record books by becoming the first English club to win the Europa League.
