NASRI FEARS FOR CUP SPOT

Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri has voiced concerns about making France's World Cup final cut after being continually played out of position by Arsene Wenger. Despite making a name for himself with Marseille in a central midfield role, since heading to the Emirates in July 2008 for £15.8 million, the 22-year-old has been used out on the flanks. The sports betting online markets suggest he will make the squad.

Although his skill and pace have seen him feature 24 times for the Gunners this term, he's concerned his lack of action in the engine-room could count against him when France coach Raymond Domenech makes his final selection. “It's true that when I come back into the middle, that's where I feel most effective,” he told the News of the World.

“I will play anywhere for my club and I just hope it doesn't cost me. It's very tough to see you're not involved for your country but I'm convinced I will be given a chance. There is still time before the World Cup squad is named.

“In recent weeks I feel I have been getting back towards my best form and that is very important with the end of the campaign we have in store.”

The talented youngster faces fierce competition for a berth in France's World Cup 2010 squad. He has thrown his name into the hat to add to his 13 international caps this summer having scored four times for Arsenal this season.
