NASRI ON TOP LIST OF MAN CITY'S BID
MANCHESTER CITY are tracking Arsenal’s Samir Nasri as it emerged he has yet to sign a new deal offered by the Gunners.
Only City, Manchester United or Chelsea can match the Frenchman’s wage demands.
And Nasri knows he is hot property after an impressive season which saw him included in the shortlist for the PFA Player of the Year.
He is determined to prove his star quality – but whether that will be with Arsenal remains to be seen.
Nasri, who turns 24 later this month, is currently on around £70,000 a week but feels he deserves more.
NASRI'S NEW DEMAND
Samir Nasri has rejected the latest contract offer from Arsenal by demanding more money. Arsenal have offered Samir Nasri a £90,000-a-week new contract that would make him the second highest paid player in the club’s history.
But Goal.com UK understands that the Frenchman has stopped short of signing the deal until the winners of the end-of-season player of the year awards are announced.
NASRI DEAL NOT DONE YET
Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri has not signed a new contract, despite reports linking him with such a thing.
However, the Frenchman's representative has admitted that talks are currently under way concerning a fresh deal for the 23-year-old.
The former Marseille man has about 18 months left on his current contract with the Gunners, and there had been reports claiming that he had come to an agreement over a new deal that would fetch him over £100,000-a-week.
NASRI IS FIT
Arsenal's manager Arsene Wenger has told Samir Nasri can play Champions League as he is now fit.He is the club's top scorer in all competitions with 14 and would significantly raise their hopes of toppling the side Wenger rates as the best in the world.
Samir Nasri suffered a hamstring injury in the FA Cup fifth round match against Huddersfield and has been on the sidelines for the last two weeks.
It was thought he was at least another week away from fitness but Wenger revealed he was surprisingly in contention for the home leg against Barca.
WENGER PRAISES NASRI
Arsene Wenger has praised NASRI by saying that he has improved massively this season. And the Arsenal boss is confident the 23-year-old midfielder will sign a new long term contract at the Emirates in the near future.
Frenchman Nasri has been dubbed the 'new Zidane' across the Channel following an impressive season where he has already bagged 14 goals.
Wenger believes Nasri and Zidane are different types of players - but can see similarities between the pair.
NASRI COULD EXTEND ARSENAL CONTRACT
Samir Nasri would extend his stay at Arsenal by signing a new contract according to his father. Samir Nasri's father, Hamid, has called on his son to stay at Arsenal and improve his game under the guiding hand of Arsene Wenger.
Samir Nasri has been weaving sorcery for Arsenal this season and is already touted as a potential candidate for the Barclays Premier League Player of the Year award.
The 23-year-old has made considerable strides in an Arsenal shirt since last year and boasts nine goals in 18 matches so far in the league, a handful scored in spectacular fashion.
NASRI TALKS UP ARSENAL'S CHANCES
Samir Nasri has said that he is confident that Arsenal can win the league this season, despite losing to Manchester United. The Frenchman's 12 goals in all competitions have been a significant factor behind the Gunners' success in the first half of the season.
But last week's defeat at Manchester United left Arsenal facing the usual accusations of naivety, and captain Cesc Fabregas has voiced his own concerns.
NASRI LOOKING FORWARD FOR INDIAN PLAYERS
Samir Nasri has said that he wants to play alongside Asian players and especially Indian players. Nasri, who is of Algerian origin, said the world is waiting to see a star footballer from India.
'There is tremendous talent in this (India) country. Everyone wants to see Asian players doing well on the world stage. The South Koreans and Japanese are doing it to a certain extent, but people want see household names emerging from India and China,' Samir Nasri said in an electronic interview Wednesday.
INTERNATIONALS A DISTRACTION
Arsenal's Samir Nasri has said that the recent England-France friendly is a distraction. The 23-year-old is optimistic about his team's chances of taking the championship off a Chelsea team with little back-up when their key players are missing, as they were against Sunderland yesterday.
NASRI FEARS FOR CUP SPOT
Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri has voiced concerns about making France's World Cup final cut after being continually played out of position by Arsene Wenger. Despite making a name for himself with Marseille in a central midfield role, since heading to the Emirates in July 2008 for £15.8 million, the 22-year-old has been used out on the flanks. The sports betting online markets suggest he will make the squad.
